Atera
This post only exists because: pretty pictures.
I feel like I must be the only person out there who didn't enjoy Atera.
Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe because we were 20min late (shitty of us). But overall I think the taste just didn't suit my palate, which is weird cuz I'm totally not a very fussy eater. I was so excited about the menu! Oh well. At least I liked all the desserts.
Anyway, pictures!

Plated: Lamb Meatballs with Orzo and Asparagus
Been seeing the Plated ads around and decided to give it a shot since I work from and cook at home. Tried making the first meal yesterday~!
Delivery box included a printout of the dish and cooking instructions on the reverse.
Thermal foil bag held everything to keep it all cool. There was also an ice pack between the meat and veggies.
All ingredients measured to portion. So niceee.
Kinda made me think of home econ classes back in school which was basically:
1. Show up
2. Cut and mix things
3. Heat some pots and pans
4. ????
5. Profit!!!
It feels so nice to try new recipes and not waste ingredients. :D
If you like what you see, you can try out Plated for free with the promo code 6e6499. You'll receive 2 free plates worth $24-30 plus free shipping! Check them out here. :D

Hakkasan NYC
Place was loud, but I guess that's 99% of the places in NY. Servers were super busy, messed up our bills twice before we gave up and just paid. Those things aside, everything else was amaaaazing.
Drink
Eden (black grapes, rose sugar, lychee juice and soda water) - not too sweet, really enjoyed it
Small Eat
Hakka steamed dim sum platter (har gau, scallop shumai and Chinese chive dumpling) - super awesome
Crispy duck roll and sesame prawn toast - roll was perhaps a little too hard/deeply fried, prawn toast was great tho
Main
Sanpei chicken claypot with Thai sweet basil - super tender! haven't had sanpei chicken in a while and this was amazing. can definitely go stronger with the spices but it wasn't bland or anything. loved it.
Grilled Chilean seabass with Chinese honey, fried shimeji mushrooms and gai lan - melt-in-your-mouth awesomeness. and love the touch of sweetness from the honey. so good.
Fried rice - yum
Dessert
Chocolate dumplings - it was... tangyuan with chocolate fillings inside. GENIUS. so simple and incredible.
Coconut panna cotta - with some pistachio, pineapple etc i think? great variety of taste in a small dessert, very nice.
Also got $38 voucher for spending after restaurant week which is super sweet. Overall totally happy, def have a better impression of this one than London's.

- The oyster, AMAZING. The apple mignonette makes it.. damn. So good. And love that it wasn't very fishy.
- Uni mousseeeee. awesome.
- Scallop was very thick and heavy, not my fav way but still really good
- First time having karasumi, interesting. Dried mullet roes *_*

assorted sashimi
8 varieties
- great! fresh~
Kodai nishu yaki
grilled Japanese sea bream, two ways, with uni and nori
- I actually really loved the nori one. Always love uni but don't know if it really gels with the sea bream, Nori tho brings out the flavor amazingly. (still love uni tho.. ofc)
Wagyu
Japanese beef from Miyazaki, Japan with Rokusuke salt
- MELT IN YOUR MOUTH WAGYU. SO GOOD.
Lobster tempura soba
tempura fried lobster with buckwheat noodles in a dashi broth
- normal~

- AMAZAKE. I WAS SO HAPPY.
- chestnut ice cream sandwich was cool

Freshly pounded mochi
coated in ground black sesame
- NOMNOMNOM MOCHI.
